The year has started off with a bang at Bookbinding Services. As usual, students were knocking at our door from day one looking to get their theses bound!
Last month, we were given a book binding project by Hog Hollow Country Lodge, a breath-taking lodge found on the garden route.
For this project, we had to replicate bookbinding for their new menus, bedside stories books and information booklets.
In keeping with the country theme, we made sure to use Mother Nature as our inspiration.
We chose to use wood and locally sourced leather, which we then split the leather to about 0,8mm – this makes it easier to work with and gives a neater finish.
There are several colours of leather available, allowing us to match the colour the Hog Hollow project required.
It’s important to note, that we do not work with plastic.
Although, we can provide high-quality plastic sleeves for menu pages, these are however, manufactured elsewhere.
We follow the no carbon footprint movement and we are proud that our entire process in environmentally-friendly.
This year, we promise to deliver the same superior service we have always provided.
We are proud to state, that we are one of the few bookbinders in South Africa who can still boast that our books are hand-bound.
