These books are full bound in a good quality book covering material such as leather or imitation leather. The student name and title of the document is then foiled onto the front cover and spine in either gold or silver.
The process used for thesis binding is the age-old craft of hand binding.
The spine of the book is glue bound as this is the best method of binding single sheets. It is important to note that the recommended paper for this purpose is standard 80 gsm bond – the kind of paper used in an office or home printer.
If paper with a gloss finish is used, then the content pages are stapled together, as glue does not adhere well to gloss paper.
Many students are usually in a hurry to get their theses bound. However, it is important to note that we require 3 working days to complete the binding process.
At graduation time, we will require 4 to 5 working days.
As we are only bookbinders, we are not able to do the printing of your document. However, we work closely with several local printers so we can easily arrange printing on your behalf.
Note: As the printers are separate businesses, you will need to settle the printing cost with them.
